The Nigeria e-Visa is an electronic visa issued by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) that allows entry for tourism, business, transit or social visits. It's not a sticker in your passport; you receive an approval letter via email that you print and present on entry. It is valid for entry for up to 90 days from issuance and allows a stay of up to 30 days for single-entry visas.
Who can apply? Do U.S. citizens need one?
Yes. Citizens of the U.S., Europe, Asia, Africa and other regions outside ECOWAS must apply for a visa. The online e-Visa system is open to all visa-required nationalities. Nationals of ECOWAS (West African) countries do not need a visa to enter Nigeria.
How long does the Nigeria e-Visa process take?
The Nigeria Immigration Service normally processes e-Visa applications in about 2–5 business days. With our expedited service, approvals can arrive in as little as 1–2 business days. We recommend applying at least a few weeks before travel, but most clients receive approval within 48 hours.
What documents do I need for the application?

How will I receive my visa?

Can I apply for multiple people (a group or family) at once?
Yes. Family or group applications of up to 10 people for visiting or tourist visas can be submitted together. Each person still needs an individual passport and photo, but the documentation can be filed as one application.
What about visa validity and overstays?
The Nigeria e-Visa is valid for 90 days from issue. Within that period you can enter and stay up to 30 days for single-entry visas. Overstaying is a serious offense and can result in a fine on departure and a possible visa ban, so apply only for the length of stay you need and leave before your visa expires.
What if my travel plans change?
Your e-Visa approval is valid for 90 days. If your dates shift within that window you can still use the same visa. If you need to travel beyond 90 days from issuance, you'll need to re-apply.
